Northam Realty’s Bell Trinity Square – 483 Bay Street proud to be Toronto’s first LEED EB Gold Certified Office Building.

On June 25th Bell Trinity Square was awarded LEED EB Gold Certification making it the first office building in Toronto with this qualification.  The award is recognition of the high level of environmental responsibility exemplified in areas such as energy use, recycling, water and air quality as well as management systems and procedures.

LEED is a third party certification program which outlines standards which are very difficult to reach.  It is an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings and homes.

Bell Trinity Square and the devoted Northam Realty Advisors staff have worked hard in recent years to implement a successful recycling program with tremendous results.  From the Recycling Wall displaying recycling themed art pieces, to regular training seminars for staff by Turtle Island Recycling, a proudly displayed report tracking their program’s progress and booth displays for the tenants and visitors regarding recycling and the environment, Northam Realty Advisors has shown remarkable dedication to providing educational outreach and promotional events to ensure the success of the program.

Northam Realty has made the recycling program accessible to all users of the facility; they have adapted the program to meet the needs of all their major tenants and invested in high quality recycling equipment to facilitate their goals.  Specific receptacles have been provided to capture everything from batteries to old cell phones.  Just about anything that enters the facility can be recycled.

Turtle Island Recycling would like to congratulate Bill Braun, Norm Olshansky, Julie Giddings and all the staff at Northam Realty and Bell Trinity Square for this tremendous achievement.
