For organizations that require either regular shredding services or one time "purges" of confidential material Turtle Island offers secure offsite shredding services. The system is tightly monitored ensuring a secure transition from the original document to the shredded product.









Here is how our process works:

• Turtle Island will provide secure containers throughout your facility.
• A service schedule will be established allowing a uniformed Turtle Island representative to efficiently transfer the filled containers to our secure shredding truck to ensure no loss or breach of confidential documents.
• The truck then transports materials to our secured shredding facility which features:
  • Security fencing surrounding the confidential area.
  • Camera Surveillance.
  • Security guards at the entrance to our facility.
  • A designated viewing area for representatives from organizations wanting to witness their documents being destroyed first hand.
• The shredded material is then recycled into new paper product and a confidential document destruction certificate will be issued.

Administered by the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, PIPEDA is the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and it is intended to protect personal information in the hands of commercial entities covering the collection, use and disclosure of such material.

The law requires organizations to "destroy, erase or make anonymous personal information about individuals that it no longer needs in order to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected."
